Another picture from the sculpture of a man playing chess downtown Calgary.
This time the focus are the pawns.
What I like about this one is that if it was a movie the camera would move slowly by the pawns out of focus to, in the end, make it into a close up of the horse/knight in the back.
I like how it looks alone in the back there looking in the camera when everything else seems to look left and right.
This is an emotional feeling piece for some reason. Along with the title it gives a feeling of being left behind, trampled, and unnoticed. I like it. +fav for you.
awesome shot through the blurred pawns and to the other pieces... love the focus, and the mood is great with the snow. looks like ancient stone. very cool
Amazing!!! simply amazing!!! i just love it!!!... focus is amazing...it didnt even look like the chessman statue to me at the beginning...when i first saw the thumbnail, i thought it was chess pieces you found somewhere in the basement covered in dust...it was a feeling of old and forgotten... that feeling ramains to me even after i realised what it is you photographed...cuz you know most people see the statue of the man but probably never look or pay attention to the lonely horse +fav for you!

i love the close-up shot you execute here. it seems to create a definitive view from the perspective of an actual element of the game (a pawn, a horse, or even that of the king or the queen's), which reflects connection, loyalty, and security in the midst of danger (from an opposing force).
your text, of course, adds a new dimension, a unique voice to this photograph.
i do echo your question, "do you really like being lost amongst the crowd?"
